Mr and Mrs. Sheehan!

Weddings are so much fun and this was no exception!  Eric and I have known Adam and Tabitha for about 7 years now and have had so many great times with them and a lot of great times to come.  They finally tied the knot on August 28th, 2010 and I was privilaged to be Tab's Matron (ugh hate that) of Honor.  They got married in Winona, MN and I LOVE Winona so I was so glad to be back for a few days to enjoy the weather and the beautiful surroundings.

Being "home" I would like to see everyone but can't always as the committment to Tabitha came first so I was a little bummed I couldn't stop to see some close friends.  Well, I have some sneaky friends! Impromptu baby shower with 5 (minus 1 cause of conflict) of my closest friends!!! How fantastic is that.  Jenny Jones drove 4 HOURS to get there and I was soooo happy to see them all.  They made my first night in MN fantastic.

It was a tad dark.

The awesome cake

Now on to wedding festivities!

Tab, Adam, and Adam's grandma made like 150 of these and they were soooooo good!  Eric and I ate like 50 I think.

Decorating the night before with the whole gang.

Dan, Joe, and Eric jumped right in to help which was interesting but made the decorating go a lot faster.

Amanda, Tab, and I

Getting our hair did.

Before the ceremony with my handsome hubby and Tabitha's little girl, Linette!

Gossip, good for the soul.

The happy family!

ooo lala, first kiss as man and wife.
This is what the girls do between the ceremony and the reception.

This is what the boys do.

This was an example of how we all felt, too bad I'm not 8 anymore or I would have changed and passed out on the chairs too!

One Year

One year ago on Sept. 26, 2009 Eric and I said "I do".  We have had a great and wonderful year.  We started with settling into our new home, we then adopted our fourth and dumbest dog (said with love) Dante, we found out we were pregnant, I totaled our car, lots of visits from family and friends, and we have grown together through a loss of a friend.  It has not been boring and I am still so much in love with the man I call my husband.  On Sunday he took me for a massage which was wonderful, gave me flowers, and took me out for supper at Durant's.  I love you Eric Brnak!

Vacation in Hayward Wisconsin

At the end of July Eric and I went on vacation.  It was fabulous and we loved it, except for the humidity.  I have definitely become a dry climate girl.  We went to Hayward, WI, which is a small tourist town in the middle of no where Wisconsin.  Right next to where I grew up.

We arrived a day early to spend my Dad's birthday with him.  My parents are divorced and Dad wasn't going to be spending the week with us.  We made it a family affair of course with Lyle, Deyonne, Aunt Vida, and Ag also joining the crowd.  We ate at my favorite restaurant Bona Casa. Mmmmmm mmmm good.  I worked there for two years in high school and love it to this day.  Home made Italian!!!!
Uncle Lyle with Liam

See everyone thinks this food is fabulous!

It was nice to breath some fresh air and get to do small touristy kinds of things such as visit the biggest Muskellunge in the USA.  This thing is huge!

You can see my nephew and his Aunt Shannon here in comparison to the HUGE musky
I caught a really big fish.  Not my first fish caught and not my last.

Sisters and Grandma Lucy

This is in the mouth of the fish.  Yup, you can go inside it and it has a ton of lures that are antiques and pictures of old people that helped build it and stuff.  A lot of stairs also.
Grandma and Mom in front of another species of fish.  This is a fishing museum so the Musky was one of many.

We also shopped and of course we got a couple things for our little guy.  We stopped into a candy shop on the main street and Eric went JELLY BELLY wild in there!  I have pictures but I need to scan them and promise to post them as we walked out with a 5.4lb bag of Jelly Belly's.  I love them too but 5lbs worth! We had to fit that somewhere in our luggage.... All the Jelly Belly's have now been consumed and I figured out after eating so many that my favorite flavor is Pear.  I will have to ask Eric his favorite.

My mom and sisters threw me a small baby shower with just them which was really nice.  Baby Brnak got a lot of cute clothes and books and we went to Coos Baby Designs in Hayward and he got even more stuff!!

We not only went to the fish museum but we went mini golfing and had a camp fire and a lot of other stuff that I would have taken pictures of but our camera was stolen out of our luggage.... I hate US Airways now and if they do not respond to my complaint of this they will loose me as a customer forever.  I don't have electronic versions of some of the pics but will scan soon.

My favorite part of course was spending time with the family.  I love our little family and want to spend more time with them whenever possible.

Gary, my brother in law, making a "Liam face" He's the best!
Went wine tasting... preggo lady took pictures
Isn't this kid dang cute!
Liam and Aunt Karissa:)
Last day before we left and a slight glimpse of our rented "cabin".
Yay for vacation and we are headed back to the Midwest next week for a wedding I am in.  It should be fun and I will post pictures when we get back!

Honey, Scruffy, and Snorelots.....

You caught a brief glimpse of one of our latest fosters in my last blog, Honey but here are some cuter pictures of her.  She was like a month ago and we are both thankful she is gone cause every time I would call "Honey!"  Eric would say "What?" even though I was calling the Chihuahua.  I would do the same when he called her.  It got a little confusing some days.  She sure was cute but liked to lick a lot.
See she was such a doll and the family who got her better have kids cause she loved the Backus girls:)

While we had Honey we pet sat for our friend Nicole who owns Molly.  We love Molly and Juliet especially loves Molly cause she is non stop energy and playfulness plus a complete sweet heart.  Honey was her smaller identical sister I just never knew sisters did this to one another.  Unknown to us Honey had yet to be spayed so really really really took a liking to Molly.
Pictured here is Molly tolerating a mini version of herself humping her neck feverishly.

This is what happens when you see Molly bring out a small pillow we have given to the dogs and don't take it from her immediately after seeing it.
She tried to implicate Juliet but I knew better! Sneaky little Molly.

 After Honey we got Scruffy.
He was adorable and got adopted in one weekend.  I was a little irritated as the HS staff renamed him Lionheart which I think is cheesy and bad since he came very well to Scruffy.  He had a broken leg for like two seconds.  After him and his nonsense I stated no more puppies until this baby comes out and is bigger.

So I tell this to the HS woman today and that we need a short term foster for once since we are leaving for vacation in two weeks.  What does she give us? A hyper 40lb 6mth old puppy with the horrible name of .... Snorelots. Ugh who names a dog this?  Oh the people that get their dog taken away due to cruelty.  I don't know these people but I don't like them.  Nameless, as I refuse to use the other one until we figure out a new one, is a sweetie but hates the camera.  See, she is avoiding me here.

 And here.

Finally caught her off guard here while she tried to get on the couch.  Her huge chops are freakin cute!
After finally taking her meds she was done.  You see that gash on her leg all sewed up.  That is the reason she no longer has a home and why she is currently with us.  Her old owners did that to her and now we get to make it all better for her to get adopted.
Crashed out! Meds have taken affect and she is adorable isn't she.  Know someone who loves Sharpei mixes?  Let me know as she would be a wonderful dog.  Also, if you think of a good name let me know.  She is a bit rude when introducing herself to other dogs and whines like a big baby while kenneled.

Life Hit... Hard

When shit hits the fan and all of the sudden your hopefully calm and peaceful 2010 spins in four different directions at once you forget to update your blog... rather I forgot to update MY blog.  I has been a joyful and rough couple of months and I will sum it up with a short synapsis.  Also, if anyone knows why safari won't let me run certain pages please do give me some tips on fixing it.  I am currently running firefox to see this page.

My last blog ended with MIL visiting.  Was a good visit over St. Patty's day and she made me curtains.  See.

She completed more but I don't have the patience to figure out how to make the pictures work.  Sorry.

My friend, her little boy, and her mom came to visit next.  This is the friend that introduced Eric and I so she loves and knows us both and we love her and her family just as much!  We went to the mall, chilled, and for my Bday went to Old Chicago with friends and went to The Farm for breakfast.  mmm mmm good best eggs benedict around.  I may have to go this weekend as that just made me want some!

Lucas got to see and feel the joys of fostering dogs:)

The weekend before my birthday Eric and I were walking all four dogs around the park by our house.  I had just taken two pills on an empty stomach which is usually not a problem for me.  That day it made me throw up on the sidewalk keeping two interested dogs at bay.  Hmmm I thought to myself, that is strange.  Got back to the house... peed on a stick three different times (three different sticks) and found we .....

Have a bun in the oven!!

Due date 11/2/10 and just found out it's a boy!

April was quiet and my Sister came to visit again in the first part of May.  YAY!

She will love me for this but these are the only ones I have of her visit.

On May 26, 2010 a good friend and Eric's squadmate, Travis Murphy, was killed in the line of duty.  To say the least it has been heart wrenching, horrible, terrifiying and painful.  I  knew what it meant to marry a Police Officer but had not expected it to happen so close or so soon.  Him and his wife are good friends and we will miss him soo so much as he was such a character.  I love his little girl with my heart and will love his little boy just as much.  Below you will find one side of Travis although there were many :)

Miss you Travis.

Grandpa and Sunny came to visit middle of May and just left the beginning of June.  We were so glad to see them and spend some quality time with them.  Sunny is hilarious on the Wii.  Hopefully they will be back soon and we will get to WI to visit very soon.  Thanks for the visit!  We really enjoyed it all:)

They liked the new couch:) Love you Two!
